Lincoln, CA--The Portland Pickles were able to hold off the second place Lincoln Potters on Tuesday night at McBean Stadium. Trailing 6-3 entering the sixth inning, the Pickles scored six runs and sent 12 men to the plate in the sixth, and withstood four unanswered runs from the Potters to close out the game. The Pickles survived by a final score of 12-11.
Colton Walker (1-3) earned the victory for Portland, allowing six runs in five innings, walking four and striking out four. Dustin Redish earned his sixth save of the season, recording the final four outs, including leaving runners stranded at second and third base to end the game.
Daniel Lopez led the Pickles with three hits, including an RBI single in the sixth. Zander Clarke doubled in a run in the first inning, Bobby Kinne doubled in two runs in the sixth, Matt Hardy doubled in a run in the eighth inning, and Matt Starcovic drove in two runs on a single later in the eighth.
Johnathan Lavallee (5-2) took the loss for the Potters, allowing one earned run in five plus innings, walking four, and striking out three.
Isaiah Garcia and Zach Hoffman each homered for Lincoln, with Garcia finishing with two hits and Hoffman finishing with three. Will Law had three RBIs and two hits on the night.
The Pickles (23-25) play the Potters (30-18) again tomorrow night at McBean Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05, and coverage will start at 7:00. The game can be heard on Sunny 1550 and will be streamed on picklesbaseball.com.
