PICKLES CAN'T COMPLETE SWEEP, FALL TO GOLD SOX

Marysville, CA--One night after clinching a playoff berth, the Portland Pickles fell to the Marysville Gold Sox by a final score of 8-4.  The Gold Sox jumped out to a four-run lead early and never looked back, avoiding being swept by the Pickles.
 
Jackson Hulett started for the Gold Sox, going 2.1 innings and allowing one run.  Josh Savea (2-2) earned the victory, pitches a scoreless fifth inning.
 
Matt Lester (0-1) took the loss for the Pickles, allowing eight runs in 2.2 innings.  Zach Johnson threw four scoreless innings out of the Portland bullpen.
 
Jason Dicochea hit a first inning grand slam for Marysville, and finished with three hits on the night.  Tom Fuller added a two-run single in the third inning.
 
Colin Rubino had two hits and drove in two runs on the night for the Pickles, Joey Cooper had an RBI single and scored on a wild pitch in the sixth inning. and Renner Stecki had three hits on the night for the Pickles.
    
The Pickles (26-28) play the Yuba City Bears on Monday at Walker Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05, and coverage will start at 7:00. The game can be heard on Sunny 1550 and will be streamed on picklesbaseball.com.
