Portland, OR--The Portland Pickles were unable to complete a comeback bid against the Medford Rogues on Saturday night, losing by a final score of 7-5 after scoring three runs in the eighth inning.  The Rogues scored five runs in the seventh inning, sending 10 hitters to the plate in the frame.

Koty Fallon and Daniel Lopez each hit solo homers for the Pickles, and Kelechi Anyanwu drove in two runs on a clutch double in the eighth inning, cutting the deficit to two runs.  The Pickles were unable to pull any closer.

Bryce Mulcahy got the start for Portland, and went four innings in a no-decision.  He gave up two runs, walked three, and struck out three.  Andrew Eppenbach (1-2) took the loss, allowing five runs in 2.1 innings.  Jack Gordon and Colton Walker combined for 2.2 scoreless innings to close out the game.

Connor Lowrie led the Rogues offense with two hits and three RBIs on the night. Rogues starter Nick Parr went five innings and allowed two runs.  Reliever Liam Kent (1-0) earned the win, going 2.2 innings and allowing three runs.  Peyton Fuller earned the save, his first of the year.

The Pickles (31-29) host the Rogues (40-20) in the first game of the Great West League playoffs tomorrow night at Walker Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05, and coverage will start at 5:00. The game can be heard on Sunny 1550 and will be streamed on picklesbaseball.com.
