Pickles take game one from Gresham
Portland, Ore — The Pickles defeated their sibling-squad Gresham Greywovles 9-4 on Tuesday night in front of 2,217 fans at Walter Stadium.
Portland scored all nine of their runs with two outs, including a five-run fifth inning highlighted by a three-run blast by Zander Clarke. It was Clarke’s first homer of the summer, after he hit 14 home runs last summer with the team en route to Great West League MVP honors. Gabe Skoro went 4-for-4 at the plate with 3 RBI and a pair of runs scored, and Carson Breshears went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and 3 RBI. Augie Sylk got the win on the hill for Portland with two innings of scoreless relief, allowing no runs.
