Marysville, CA---The Portland Pickles held on for an impressive victory in the series finale on Thursday, beating the Yuba City Bears 11-7 and winning the series two games to one. Zander Clarke had a monster performance, hitting a two run home run in the third, a three run shot in the seventh, and a bases clearing double in the eighth, setting a Pickles franchise record with eight RBIs on the night.
Matt Hardy (2-0) earned the win for the Pickles, pitching six innings, allowing two runs, and striking out eight Bears batters. Dustin Redish closed out the final two innings out of the bullpen.
Colin Rubino drew four walks on the night for Portland, and stole home on a delayed double steal in the first. Alec Leighton provided an RBI single.
Andrew Fuentes (1-5) took the loss for the Bears, pitching six innings in the start. He allowed two earned runs and struck out eight batters. Josh Winkler hit a grand slam and finished with two hits. Logan Wurm finished with three hits, including a triple and a double.
