Marysville, CA--The Portland Pickles had the Marysville Gold Sox on the ropes.  They led 2-0 entering the bottom of the ninth, but the Gold Sox rallied for three runs to earn an improbable walk-off victory at Colusa Casino Stadium.  The series is now tied at one game apiece, and the Gold Sox climbed to within a game and a half of the Pickles for fourth place in the GWL.

After Sam Muskat struck out Sam Leach to begin the bottom of the ninth, Dalton Maxwell singled and pinch-hitter Joey Mejia was hit by a pitch. JC Cantini singled to load the bases and the Pickles turned to Renner Stecki out of the bullpen.  Stecki walked pinch hitter Brock Ephan to cut the Pickles lead to one, and then Jaisten Cabatbat hit a ground ball to shortstop Colin Rubino.  Rubino's toss to second baseman Alex Henwood popped off of Henwood's glove and into center field, and the Gold Sox scored the game tying and winning runs on the play.  The play was scored an RBI fielder's choice for Cabatbat and an error on Henwood.
Muskat (0-1) took the loss for the Pickles, allowing three runs.  Pickles starting pitcher Colton Walker went five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and three walks.  Matt Olstead gave the Pickles 2.2 hit-less innings out of the bullpen.
Gold Sox starter Doug Nimura went six innings in a no-decision, allowing one run, walking three, and striking out three.  Reliever Darrel Doll (1-1) earned the win, pitching a scoreless top of the ninth.
Zander Clarke homered to left-center field in the sixth inning, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Andrew Garcia in the eighth inning.  Alec Leighton got two hits on the night for the Pickles.  Jason Dicochea led the Gold Sox with two hits.
The Pickles (16-22) and Gold Sox (15-24) play again tomorrow night in the series finale in Marysville.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05, and coverage will start at 7:00. The game can be heard on Sunny 1550 and will be streamed on picklesbaseball.com.
