Kamana Nahaku Signs With the Pickles

Kamana Nahaku, Hawai’i outfielder, has signed with the Pickles! The former Tacoma Community College standout tore it up at the JUCO level and is ready to take his talents to the big stage at Manoa and in Portland this coming summer!

Nahaku had multiple all-conference and all-region honors during his time at TCC and stood out to scouts with an impressive .287 batting average, 45 stolen bases and 44 RBIs during his sophomore campaign there. He continues the long-standing Hawai’i pipelines between Hawai’i and TCC’s baseball programs and the Portland Pickles, and will be a key contributor in West Coast League play.

Portland Pickles Manager, Mark Magdaleno, had this to say about the signing:

“I got to see Kamana first-hand and it wasn’t all that much fun because I was in the opposing dugout. He is a product of Tacoma Community College and Ryan Mummert produces tough-minded and fundamentally-sound baseball players. He can run and really cover ground. He can play all three outfield spots. He can hit at the top or bottom of the lineup and will produce runs. He’s a plus runner who doesn’t strike out. He’s a plug-and-play type of guy. Most importantly, he has won in the past and he knows what it takes. He wants to compete.”
