Game Day Staff

 

Summary:

A job that encompasses many varying responsibilities. Opportunites in food prep, guest services, retail sales associates, and security is given for a broad range of work. Being prepared to be flexible with your job responsibilities on a daily basis is a must. We want our fans to have the best possible family friendly and fun experience at Walker Stadium so we lean on our Game Day Staff to supply this atmosphere at every Pickles home game.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide an exceptional ballpark experience for all guests and employees at Walker Stadium.
  • Merchandise and operate various retail locations.
  • Enthusiastically and proactively help guests with merchandise needs in a fast paced environment.
  • Be knowledgeable of products and services available to guests.
  • Assist guests with general ballpark questions and information.
  • Operate POS system/Cash handling.
  • Exceed guest expectations.
  • Be prepared to assume additional responsibilities that fall outside of primary responsibilities.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must have a guest friendly attitude.
  • Previous retail guest service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer focused, detail oriented, organized and motivated self-starter.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift/push/pull 50lbs.

Availability:

  • Must have flexible work schedule. Game days, including evenings, weekends, and Holidays required.

Requirements:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 30 home games during the 2017 Baseball Season.

Internships

 

Summary:

We still have a few internships available for the 2017 season. Our internships are designed for college students or recent college graduates looking to gain experience in the sports industry. Those interested in an internship with the Portland Pickles should be prepared to be an important part of the Pickles staff. Interns will need to apply the knowledge and skills they already have formulated, but also open to learning new skills and areas of sports operations as needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide an exceptional ballpark experience for all guests and employees at Walker Stadium.
  • Flexibility with a broad range of office tasks that include but not limited to writing copy, tracking inventory, set-up & clean-up, assisting full-time staff where needed, and working alongside community & business partners to build Portland Pickles professional partnerships.
  • Be knowledgeable of products and services available to guests.
  • Assist guests with general ballpark questions and information.
  • Exceed guest expectations.
  • Be prepared to assume additional responsibilities that fall outside of primary responsibilities.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must have a guest friendly attitude.
  • A strong passion for Baseball and working in the Sports field.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work outside in varying weather.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Microsoft Office suite proficient.
  • Comprehensive use and understanding of G-Suite and Apps.
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift/push/pull 50lbs.

Availability:

  • Must have a flexible work schedule for the entire length of your internship. Game days, including evenings, weekends, and Holidays required.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated as an undergraduate or graduate student of an accredited college or university and have completed a minimum of 1 semester or have graduated from an accredited college or university within the last 12 months.
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average off 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 15 home games plus office hours during the 2017 Baseball Season.
