Chris Downs Re-Signs With the Pickles

Chris Downs, Cal Poly pitcher, has re-signed with the Pickles! He makes his return to Portland after an incredible showing against West Coast League competition in 2023 and looks to continue this momentum into his freshman season in San Luis Obispo.

The six-foot-seven leftie is a former top-500 LHP in the 2023 class and was ranked 35th at his position in the state of California. Chris also saw immense success at Hart High School where he played a pivotal role for the baseball program for four years.

Portland Pickles Manager, Mark Magdaleno, had this to say about the signing:

“Downsy pitched well for us last year as an incoming freshman and did a fantastic job. After spending a full season at Cal Poly and playing under Larry Lee, he’s going to be even better. He’s a big arm who is a strike-thrower and loves to compete.”
