Diego Gutierrez Signs With the Pickles

Diego Gutierrez, CSUN standout pitcher, has signed with the Pickles! The righty will be rebounding from an injury in his 2023 season at CSUN, where, as a freshman, he tabbed an impressive 2.92 ERA in 16 appearances.

Gutierrez was a first-team all-league guy at Lakewood High School (CA) and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior. He shines in leverage situations and will be a key part of the bullpen as a relief pitcher in Portland.

Portland Pickles Manager, Mark Magdaleno, had this to say about the signing:

“Cal State University, Northridge and Head Coach Eddie Cornejo sent us a talented young arm who will attack the strike zone and compete. We expect him to pitch in leverage innings for us this upcoming summer.”
