Murphy Gienger Re-Signs With the Pickles

Murphy Gienger, Northern Colorado standout, has re-signed with the Pickles! The right-handed pitcher was crucial in leverage situations last season for the Pickles and was a staple in the bullpen in 2023. He looks to continue dominating West Coast League competition with his impressive pitch kit.

Gienger saw action as a junior at Northern Colorado in 2023, tabbing 76 strikeouts to his name. Going into his senior season, he is poised to shine against Summit League competition and will be a key member of their bullpen.

Portland Pickles Manager, Mark Magdaleno, had this to say about the signing:

“Murph was a big-time arm for us last summer. The bigger the situation, the brighter the lights… he was at his best. Head Coach Mike Anderson and assistant Shane Opitz recruit my guys at Clark College. They do things the right way in Greeley, Colorado and we are excited to have their guys competing for us in Portland.”
